About the Game

• Returnal is a third-person shooter with roguelike and bullet-hell elements, developed by Housemarque and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment exclusively for PlayStation 5.

Story & Setting

• You play as Selene Vassos, a scout and astronaut who crash-lands on the mysterious, hostile alien world called Atropos while chasing a mysterious signal known as the “White Shadow.”

• After crashing, Selene finds herself trapped in a time loop: every time she dies, she is resurrected and sent back to the start, with the world changing each time.

The fragmented story unfolds through exploration, visions, and environmental storytelling, revealing Selene’s personal struggles and the larger mysteries of Atropos.
